Activities Assistant

Job Type– Part Time

Location– Carey, Ohio

Reports to– Cortney Davis

Responsibility Summary

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Accompany and assist individuals when engaging with community
  • Provide input and assistance in creating and maintaining an enriching program of community based activities that promote well-being (identity, growth, autonomy, security, connectedness, meaning and joy)
  • Lead wellness programs that inspire cognitive, social, physical and creative expressions
  • Promote and communicate programs and events
  • Motivate and serve people with varying cognitive and physical abilities
  • Assist with Aktion club meetings and events
  • Driving company owned wheelchair accessible vehicles
  • Some personal care
  • Assist in other departments as needed

Essential Functions

  • Must be able to sit and stand 8 hours per day
  • Regular attendance
  • Ability to work as a team member and to take initiative.

Position Requirements

  • Drug Screening
  • Ohio Driver’s License
  • Driving record with less than 4 points
  • High school diploma
  • Must be flexible with hours
  • Must be 21 or over
  • Experience working in the field of developmental disabilities or healthcare preferred
  • Must love the elderly and exhibit an energetic disposition

Hours of Position**

  • 4-8 hour shifts typically between the hours of 7:00AM and 5:00PM
  • Part time 20-25 hours
  • Typical work days are Monday through Friday
  • Saturdays, evenings and/ or nights, determined by programming choices
  • Job Type: Part-time

Start Date

TBD, all background checks and DOT physical must be passed prior to employment offer
