Driving Training

Every Kan Du driver is selected based on character and skill. Driving training is an essential element to help them be successful and to keep the people we serve safe. This includes in class studies and hands on driving training. In addition, each driver must meet all the physical, mental, and moral requirements established by federal rule and state laws. Each driver must pass all requirements and tests as mandated by the Ohio DODD, the DOT, PUCO and Kan Du Policies.

Above and beyond equipping our drivers with knowledge and honing their road skills, we prepare our drivers with situational training. Behavior management, physical handling, effective communication, use and operation of adaptive equipment are a few important elements in our training. And of course, each driver is CPR and First Aid trained.
